25 years ago today, my mom called my senior year dorm room to say my dad had collapsed and I needed to come home NOW.
Buffy: Was it sudden? Your mother?
Tara: No. And yes. It’s always sudden.
My dad died suddenly and not-suddenly on President’s Day. 25 years ago, somehow.

Update: maaaaaaybe a very faint positive but I know rapid tests take a couple days to show things up. I hate leaving my class with a sub, especially on a Monday, but 🤷🏼♀️

95% sure I have finally caught the covid (that I know of) after 4.5 years. Terrible headache, chills, stomach upset, cough. Half of teachers bestie’s class has it so it was only a matter of time before it snuck through. Out of tests so Instacarting some on the morning.

@drdre4000 @GargLab I like chemquiz.net. It has loads of practice quizzes for students who want extra reps with instant feedback. The content is intro and gen chem level and they are still updating quizzes.

I'm trying to compile a list of online resources (apps, webpages, social media accounts) for students taking chem. Examples: phone apps - chairs, chem-calculator, chirality, chemistry by design; webpages - RS chemistry, BACON (thanks to @GargLab); social media - zoomorgo, etc.

@thephdstory I choose the 10 months, but I have a credit union in our area that takes a percentage of the check each time and creates a summer saver account. That account gets pretty good interest during the school year and then pays out during the summer months I don’t get a paycheck.

“Functional skills” program or no…don’t give up. Also, basic reading, writing, and math are all functional skills.

1. I do not recommend getting a migraine in the middle of an IEP where you can’t stop to take anything for it.
2. My brother is the literal best.
3. My brother could barely read CVC words when he went to middle school. This is why I never ‘give up’ on academics.
