oh boy so I’ve seen this screenshot going around, so I want to give my take on this. First off, starting your question with “I’m not judging, I’m just curious” is already a red flag, like you are bc why say that in the first place, so that’s one. And second, I myself am autistic, and my youngest brother of 3, who’s my best friend and is mini me, has autism too, and it’s a severe case at that. My mom worked with disabled adults and helps them out to adapt into this cruel world and make them feel like they fit in. And she took so much pride in that when other workers wouldn’t go as hard as she did, so I take this to heart, I take this as hard as anyone else who knows people with disabilities. And let me just say, we didn’t choose our disabilities, like you think we want this? No we don’t, but we do have them and we’re all learning how to live with them and the struggles that come with it, and it’s a never ending battle, I should know. Also some people just can’t work bc of their disabilities, that’s why disability checks exist. Like it’s already hard enough as is to find a job now, and us disabled people have it so rough, like it’s used against us most of the time. Also to say “wtf is happening” is so wrong bc what if people on here don’t wanna say for their own reason. For me, I don’t want to have people feel bad for me if I mentioned that I have autism bc that’s what my mom taught me, that people don’t need to know that you are, I just wanna feel included and not have labels, but I’m so proud of everyone who’s brave enough to share their disabilities on here. What I’m saying is do better, go to someone and ask them personally, and think before you tweet. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk
