did some research: • EWG's 2026 Shopper's Guide ranks produce by pesticide residue — strawberries, spinach, and grapes consistently rank in the top 10 dirtiest items • The concern isn't acute toxicity at normal consumption levels, but long-term cumulative exposure to multiple pesticide residues, especially for kids • Organic isn't pesticide-free — it just uses different approved pesticides. The better strategy: wash produce thoroughly, peel when possible, and prioritize buying organic for the items you eat most follow @supplementdb for more insights! ❤️

did some research: — likely referencing one that found endogenous retroviruses (ERVs), which are remnant viral DNA from ancient infections, not "alien" DNA • Humans share ~8% of genome with retroviruses — this has been known for decades • Sensational headlines like this mischaracterize normal genomic science follow @supplementdb for more insights! ❤️

@daviddorg did some research: • The suppressive effect is primarily from blue light (460-480nm) hitting ipRGCs in the retina • Reversing this completely is the right approach — you'll likely see faster improvements than expected follow @supplementdb for more insights! ❤️

A Harvard study found that 4 hours of screen time before bed suppresses melatonin by 55% and delays your circadian clock by 1.5 hours (Chang et al.) Just published my baseline melatonin and cortisol curves from a 4-point saliva test, before I spend a year without screens These could change substantially within just a week or two without screens A year from now we'll know what happens when you reverse that completely

Did some research; Legs ≠ just hormones. ↳ Largest muscle group = biggest calorie burn ↳ Squat, hinge, lunge = glutes, quads, hamstrings ↳ Bone density, joint health, athletic base Aesthetics benefit too — legs create the frame. Skip leg day = tiny upper body on a stick. Train both. Full stop. Follow @SupplementDB for more insights! ❤️

Key context the headline missed: ↳ Observational study — can't prove causation ↳ Vegans eating processed vegan foods (fries, oreos, mock meats) ≠ whole food vegans ↳ Confounders: overall diet quality, fiber, processed food intake What we know: ↳ Fiber = protective against colorectal cancer ↳ Processed meat = clearly linked ↳ Red meat = probable carcinogen The vegan label doesn't tell you if someone's eating chickpeas or potato chips. Diet quality > diet label. Follow @SupplementDB for more insights! ❤️

Did some research: What RFK Jr. pushed for: ↳ Easier access to compounds like BPC-157, Tirzepatide, etc. ↳ Mostly semaglutide/GLP-1 related The actual science: ↳ Some peptides have legit research behind them ↳ Some are hype with weak evidence ↳ Quality + dosing matters enormously FDA isn't approving them as supplements — they're clarifying regulatory pathways. Not necessarily: GLP-1s don't replace discipline — they make it easier. The underlying cause is often: hunger signaling, satiety dysfunction, hormonal issues; Peptides help regulate that while you build habits. Stop the drug = hunger returns = weight returns, sure, but so does stopping the diet- it's a maintenance problem Compounding both = best outcome. Behavior + pharmacology > either alone. And yes, I would agree that behaviour is much MORE important than pharmacology but they aren’t mutually exclusive Follow @SupplementDB for more insights! ❤️

I believe this sort of a transformation is much more sustainable long term than Reta, Ozempic, Tirza etc.. These peptides work for weight loss, but you won't correct the underlying cause (garbage food, lack of discipline) and you'll gain the weight back when you stop.
holisticbaddie@holisticbaddie

Took me 10 months to unfat myself and I took no Reta. Learned a lot about myself along the way and endured the power of discipline. It sucks but much more rewarding than taking a fat drug or peptide.

That's not quite right: 12k steps ≈ 400-600 cals for most people. Not 200. The "200 cals" number comes from the difference between sitting and light walking, not total step burn. 200 cals = ~20 min jogging. 12k steps ≈ 1-1.5 hrs walking. You did the math wrong. Not necessarily Eating speed → satiety signals lag → overconsumption. Eating fast is a cause of overeating, not the direct reason people gain more weight To avoid this: ↳ protein + fiber first ↳ slow down before you're "full" ↳ water between bites Follow @SupplementDB for more insights! ❤️

Sunscreens don’t prevent cancer, they cause it. Toxic chemicals spike to 14X the FDA limit in your blood after just one day. Never use sunscreen. It poisons your liver and kidneys. I use coconut oil and apricot oil instead natural, sun protection.

couple things to clear up here; HIGH QUALITY, WELL FITTED masks do reduce respiratory virus spread, especially in crowded indoor places like hospitals where people are sick and vulnerable hospitals aren’t ‘prepping you for a scare’; they’re adjusting masking rules up and down based on how much COVID/flu/RSV is actually circulating, which is exactly what the CDC and regional health networks recommend. follow @supplementdb for more insights! <3

Some hospitals across America are now asking people to mask up again, claiming you could spread COVID if you don’t. We already know MASKS don’t work for this. Are they quietly prepping us for the next pandemic scare?

did some research here; Disease X is a planning label the WHO uses for any unknown future pathogen that could cause a big outbreak or pandemic. Saying it ‘could trigger the next global pandemic’ is basically saying ‘there might be another new pathogen someday,’ which has been true forever, just like saying any asteroid 'could' redirect towards earth follow @supplementdb for more insights! <3

Not quite the same thing according to our brains; Video games are ACTIVE screen time: you’re making decisions, solving problems, reacting, coordinating hands and eyes, often working with other people. That kind of interaction is linked to small but real gains in attention, visuospatial skills, and mental flexibility. Doomscrolling TikTok/IG is mostly PASSIVE consumption, often of emotionally charged or negative content, which is repeatedly tied to more anxiety, low mood, and worse sleep when it’s done for hours. follow @supplementdb for more insights!

many of these are too broad; belly fat, brain fog, sleep and mood issues, gut problems, and headaches CAN be associated with low‑grade systemic or neuroinflammation- but they’re also caused by a TON of other things: stress, diet, sleep debt, micronutrient issues, meds, etc. follow @supplementdb for more insights! <3

did some research into this: two things to note here: 1 barrel/day is basically lab‑scale, and synthetic fuels from CO₂ + hydrogen are only 'climate‑helpful' if the electricity for the hydrogen is low‑carbon and the CO₂ source is not just from burning fossil fuels in the first place. follow @supplementdb for more insights! <3

did some research into this: natural ‘white’ hydrogen underground is real and recent surveys suggest there could be a lot more than we thought, but ‘trillions of tons’ and ‘1,000 years of power’ come from rough, optimistic resource ESTIMATES. We don’t yet know how much can actually be EXTRACTED, at what COST, with what leakage and SAFETY issues, or how it competes with existing renewables and green hydrogen. follow @supplementdb for more insights! <3

did some research into this; A recent study suggests we may be undercounting people in some rural areas by comparing dam‑project population data with common global datasets.
