People keep replying to this with "that's what Wind Waker Ganondorf is," which makes me realize people don't understand what "morally gray" means. Wind Waker Ganondorf isn't "morally gray;" he's just as evil as his previous incarnations. He's just given depth and motivation for his actions in Ocarina of Time beyond "I'm the bad guy who loves evil." He kidnaps girls across the sea, blows up an island, plunges the world into an eternal night, and, after his grandiose speech about wanting a better life for his people, when the king steals his wish, instead of reflecting on his failed ambitions, he tries to wipe out what little hope still exists in Link and Tetra. He's still evil. Morally gray doesn't mean a complex character or motivation. That's just a deep character. Morally gray is when a character blurs the lines between right and wrong, the "ends justifying the means" kind of thing. Also lol at people taking "Here me out: Redeemable King of Moral Greyness" seriously.

@KahunaCilver520 Basically the echoes are good for puzzle solving but a pain in the ass to use in combat outside of the final boss. Tho by the mid point the echoes have the same issues with the og iron boots from oot but 10 times worse. I swear by the half way I’m pausing more than playing

@KahunaCilver520 I just think the ai for the echoes are really flawed. Low key the only time I wasn’t frustrated was when I was fighting along side link. Our team work was flawless and I genuinely had fun playing support for him

I think the problem with this game came from fans wanting a Zelda starred Zelda game but Zelda as a female Link. Which I understand but Zelda not Link. She’s more Magic based which she does well in this game. You just had to be smart with the gimmick which is simple to understand

I'll answer this in a retweet so everyone can see it: Tears of the Kingdom, fundamentally, does not understand the appeal of its predecessor. BotW is a deeply flawed game, but it got people to look past those flaws by presenting a wonderous, brand-new world to explore and encouraged out-of-the-box experimentation with its wonderful physics engine. Cutting down a tree and using it as a bridge is one of the most satisfying moments of discovery in all of Zelda, and moments like that defined the first 10 hours or so of BotW's runtime. Tears of the Kingdom does not capitalize on any of this. The world is played out - therefore, the act of discovery is absent from perhaps about 75% of the game, minus new sections in the sky, the underground, and a few changes on the surface. But even worse: the vehicle building is a one-size-fits-all solution to every puzzle. Need to travel over some lava? Build a vehicle. Need to cross a river? build a vehicle. Need to climb a mountain? Build a vehicle. BotW worked because its mechanics had limitations - TotK removed those limitations and instead gave players a tedious, time consuming, yet ultimately overpowered solution to dealing with all the game's many problems. TotK is by no means a bad video game - a title like that is reserved for pieces of shit like Mixtape, DQ2, or 1348 Ex Voto - but it's a bad sequel because it takes all of the strengths of BotW, throws them away, and then proceeds to puppeteer its corpse without understanding why anyone found the game appealing in the first place.

@KwamzTheFirst That’s probably why people seem to praise it more than the gens fight despite gens again, being Better gameplay wise.

@KwamzTheFirst Generations is a better boss gameplay wise (and it’s not even close) but unleashed is better atmosphere and aura wise. Sh*t genuinely felt like a fight to the death in unleashed, the fact that Eggman just straight up tells you to dye at one point to. Mike ate work that one

Egg Dragoon Generations is one of the best boss fights in the series. NEVER understood why niggas were telling me the Unleashed version was better except for the fact it’s Unleashed Simply Exquisite.
