It’s that time once again, new art day! Oh, and there’s totally a brap version below, so you’d better click this or you’re going in those panties next. Today’s piece is more fanart of my “one day, I swear” upcoming game. This would be one of the victory scenarios where you, as Sarah, manage to win Kat’s challenge of the day and avoid punishment while watching the loser take it instead. That’s about all I’m comfortable confirming as “definitely in the game.” No sense laying out mechanics that are still subject to change. Game dev has given me a much deeper appreciation for how immediate feedback is for art. It’s exciting for both the viewer and the artist to see and post works in progress, sketches, sneak peeks, anything visual. But let’s not pretend anyone would’ve clicked this post if I were proudly showing off my optimized dialogue component blueprints. We both know what this is. And this isn’t unique to game dev. A lot of hobbies just don’t have visually exciting in-progress stages. Snippets of writing. Mechanical work. Untextured models. Raw code. They all fall a little flat without something polished to hook the eye. People say the eyes are the windows to the soul, but honestly? They’re the window to interaction. You have to catch the eye before anything else can happen. Maybe one day I’ll figure out how to do that without putting a butt on the screen. Hah. As if. Anyway, see you tomorrow.
