Thank you! We’re just as excited! Unfortunately, the factory that produced the Twist Out wig has closed down, so we’ve been working on a new style that continues to reflect the diversity we aim to represent through our dolls. It’s been a challenge, as very few vendors are able to create this type of wig—especially to the level of quality we require—but progress is being made. The first color we’ll be rolling out is black, but we’re currently exploring other color options as well—the ones available to us so far are shown in the photo. What other colors would you like to see our braided wigs in? #smartdoll

Hey Folks, We put a lot of time and resources into bringing back the Smart Doll guys because we heard how much you wanted them. However, we’ve also seen a lot of disappointment—whether it’s about pricing, availability, the lack of clothing options (even though we planned to provide free patterns), or the fact that we prioritize our girls and can only make the guys when possible. We completely understand the frustration, and we feel it too. It’s disheartening to put in the effort only to see that it hasn’t met expectations. At the same time, we need to be realistic about what’s sustainable for us. We never set out to disappoint anyone, but the reality is that we can’t price them in line with our girls, guarantee ongoing availability, or shift focus away from them. Since many of you have voiced that this isn’t the offering you wanted, we’ve decided to step back from an official release of the boys. That said, I want to extend my apologies to those who were genuinely excited for the release—those who understood the pricing, accepted the availability, and embraced the unique imperfections that make every Smart Doll special. For you, perhaps keep an eye on Chaos—our guys may find their way there. We always appreciate your feedback and do our best to listen when we can. We know we can’t make everyone happy, but we’ll continue focusing on what we do best—creating Smart Dolls in a way that aligns with our vision and what’s realistically possible. @SmartdollLand I like the look of the turnover wig however it did increase the CWPM during application. (Curse Words Per Minute)

Hey folks, Just a quick heads-up: we’ll be discontinuing the “turnover” style wig that we introduced last year. This design was created to allow you to tie the hair back without the wig cap showing, while also minimizing the chances of it flying off into the River Thames on a windy day. However, based on your feedback about the difficulties in attaching the turnover style, we’ve decided to phase it out. We’ll be returning to the previous design, which features elastic edges that make attachment much easier—even if it means the edges of the wig cap might be slightly visible. The photo below shows the turnover style on the left and the previous elastic design on the right. It’s worth noting that not all of our current wigs are turnover style. We usually include this detail on the product page so you can make an informed decision before purchasing. Please note that we don’t offer an option to choose between styles, and we’ll continue selling the turnover style until our remaining stock runs out. How was your experience with the turnover? Straightforward? Harrowing? #smartdoll

I wanted to give you a heads-up regarding the casting of the pocket doll mannequin. The results are not good, and it looks like the molds are buggered. As you can see from the photos - the arms and legs are super super long and deformed. We will bung these in the chaos vinyl shell bundles at random during our current end-of-year cleaning. As some of the limbs are super long - we will have to fold them as they won't fit in the packs. The next time the vinyl bundles go online, expect some (not all) of the packs to contain these parts. It looks like some little ones are getting into the holiday spirit early—this video, shared with permission from a parent, shows them opening their prezzie ahead of time ;-) If you’re caught doing the same, you can always say you’re opening them 360 days late instead of early. Now, about holiday orders: while we rely on couriers like FedEx and DHL to deliver your goodies and cannot guarantee arrival before Christmas, there’s a good chance you can still place orders up until December 18th and receive them by the 25th. Our website states a 15-day lead time before shipping, but this is primarily to discourage sales from overly impatient folks. In reality, we ship quite quickly. However, please note that we can only ship after new customers have responded to a follow-up email from a real human confirming key details, such as the shipping address and willingness to pay import taxes if they reside outside the U.S. We understand that some people find this practice inconvenient, and we empathize. However, it’s our way of ensuring packages are delivered safely and that customer expectations are fully aligned with the product. If you’d like to share photos of your family members receiving their Smart Dolls and don’t mind us sharing them on our social media, simply reply to any email we’ve sent you. For every iteration of the various types of Smart Doll bodies, we create a clear version to observe how the shell interacts with the frame—checking for collisions and stress points. The Cyber Shell Cortex is no exception, and I think it looks rather spiffing ;-) In this version of Cortex, we’ve paid special attention to the interior design, as the panels are intended to be removable, revealing a cybernetic aesthetic inside. The clear version also helps us identify areas to modify for fitting more electronic components. In these photos, while we haven’t fully wired everything up yet, we’ve managed to fit in two CR123A 3V batteries (which can be swapped for a 9V battery stepped down to 5V with a buck converter), an ESP32-WROVER CAM board with built-in WiFi and Bluetooth ( #Arduino IDE compatible), a Grove Speech Recognizer module, and a 0.96” I2C OLED Display Module. Currently, the camera is placed outside a vent as we’re figuring out the best placement. It will ultimately be used for face and object recognition. This is just an example of what we’ve been able to fit inside—the only limitation is your imagination and the physical space within. To clarify a previous post, some folks thought we’d be releasing Cyber Shell Cortex with pre-installed electronics. While we may develop simple electronic components like light modules that can be easily popped into the torso, there will be only one version of Cyber Shell Cortex—which will come with only a Ghost (in the shell). We’re optimizing the internal structure to give you the flexibility to add your own electronics for various projects. If you prefer it without electronics, you can keep it that way—no problemo! We plan to showcase the clear version at London Winter Comic Con next week at Olympia, Nov 16-17, though I’m not sure how much of the electronics we’ll have wired up in time. At the very least, we’ll have a simple light-pulsating version on display. Now that #smartdoll can truly live up to their name, what would you have your Smart Doll do? Do your homework?
