If you can’t get a small contingent of people to coordinate on a primary election once every two years to win seats in a political party, I find it highly unlikely you can get them to pick up rifles and fight and die to see your niche political ideology established.

They'll all say Trump "promised" "no more foreign wars" and to be the "peace candidate" and when I ask them for proof they post tweets from the RNC or Vance — never from Trump himself, because there is nothing from him to support what they're saying. On the other hand, there is a long series of statements from Trump going back more than a decade making clear his views on Iran. In one of them from 2011 he literally calls Iran a "theat to our national security" — is that the language of someone opposed to force? I suppose Trump bombing ISIS in Term 1 was also a violation of these non-existent pledges? And what do these people think "Peace Through Strength" means, anyway? How do you maintain peace through strength without periodically DEMONSTRATING said strength, giving it credibility? The plain fact of the matter is that Trump is not and has never been a non-interventionist (a completely unserious position for a US President to take in the modern day).

@wayfarer679 I just saw a guy today who said Trump "lied on the campaign trail" and so I linked him a video of Trump at a rally in September 2024 saying he'd flatten Iranian cities lmao.

Interesting to consider that the median American boy probably lives the least "violent" life in human history. All boys in 1950 fought, sometimes seriously, even in Mayberry or wealthy settings. Bullying could be savage. Now many never throw a punch, ever.

Guys it was lovely but I think this is right. It's time to cut the bridge off to preserve Japanese Twitter. The language barrier is a genuine moat against memetic invasion. @peterboghossian wrote about why and how anglo countries became awash in wokeism, and part of it comes down to linguistic determinism through usage of the English language. English is particularly well-suited for "discourse engineering." Other languages simply don't have the same built-in equivocation, so the ideology has to be imported explicitly and clumsily as English loanwords, or it fizzles. That lack of seamlessness is a natural - but not foolproof - firewall to the woke mind virus. We caught glimpses of each other, but it is time for the window to close.
