Yes, it was first materialized at Niagara Falls by Tesla’s design. Electricity generated there was sent to New York City to turn on lightbulbs. It has been well over 100 years, and the tech has changed only slightly. That foundation holds. There has not been a breakthrough “new” way to do it other than small modifications over the years.
