It is incredibly hard for a sitting vice president to win election as president. The fact that exactly one person has done it since the 1830s should make that point. washingtonexaminer.com/daily-memo/452…

Trump needs to be removed from office; he has clearly lost what little control of himself he had. He is a disgrace. The only good thing is that his derangement is becoming clearer even to his strongest supporters, so maybe the country can salvage its reputation after he's gone.

Pope Leo at the Great Mosque of Algiers today - his second Mosque visit and first-ever papal trip to Algeria. Vatican leaning hard into inter-faith fraternity, in pointed contrast to ongoing political attempts to weaponise Christian identity

Pope Leo XIV places a wreath of flowers and prays for the Algerians who died in the Algerian War of Independence against French Colonial rule at the Maqam Echahid Martyrs’ Monument in Algiers.

Megyn Kelly: " I don't know why the president's getting so desperate for attention that he feels the need to mock 1.4 billion Catholics…I bet you it's not gonna be the Jews. It's not gonna be the Israelis, I promise you that that's not coming."

t.co/94w2ZhxYlI In Texas, USA, a Muslim Imam openly explains to his followers: - Jihad is obligatory - Deception and infiltration against non-Muslims are permitted - America is evil because it is full of Shirk, Fitna, and Haram He then quotes Quran verses that command Muslims to fight the infidels until there is no more Shirk, until religion is entirely for Allah. This is not “extremism.” This is mainstream Islamic teaching, preached openly in America. They are not coming to integrate. They are coming to conquer — step by step, neighborhood by neighborhood. When will America take this seriously?

A series of disjointed, hard-to-follow and sometimes-profane comments capped by threatening to wipe out Iran and attacking the pope have left many with the impression of a deranged autocrat mad with power and revived the debate about Trump's mental health. nytimes.com/2026/04/13/us/…

Communion between Christians and Muslims takes shape under the mantle of Our Lady of Africa. Here, in #Algeria, the maternal love of Lalla Meryem gathers everyone as children, within our rich diversity, in our shared aspiration for dignity, love, justice, and peace. In a world where division and wars sow pain and death, living in unity and peace is a compelling sign. #ApostolicJourney

This is Milan, most important city in Italy. We are speechless.

Congratulations to Péter Magyar on his election as Hungary’s new leader. This outcome underscores the power of democracy and NATO prevailing over the previous regime’s support for autocracy and Putin. As co-chair of the Senate NATO Observer Group, I look forward to working together to promote our shared values, enhance security and prosperity in Europe, and address Putin’s aggression while further strengthening our partnership with Hungary.
