A well made leather jacket is a classic piece of outerwear that can last you a lifetime. Don't be locked into a paradigm of only black leather jackets. Light and dark brown are great neutrals that will go with just about anything and can feel less severe than black.

A back or navy suit can make you look older by not accentuating your skin tones. It can make you look more pale. A nice gray can also make you look more approachable. It's a frequently overlooked neutral that is super flexible and can dress up or down easily. :)

Gents, let's talk about business suits. I know lots don't like to wear them, but we all need to at some point. Now there's nothing wrong with a classic black or navy blue suit. But if you need to get a suit, consider charcoal gray. Here's why: (Cont'd)

Gents, when choosing items for your wardrobe, make versatile selections that will really work for you. One of my favorite, and hardest working pieces of outerwear, is a camel hair jacket. A warm toned neutral, this piece has a classic look that never goes out of style.

My biggest tip...declutter. To improve a room, keep the things you love, but focus on a few things at a time. You can rotate out various items throughout the year. You should be able to see at least 60% of any surface in your home. It helps with cleaning and decorating!0

A lot of accounts try to tell you what's hot and what's not. But I think you should make the most with what you've got! So let's tackle some ways to "redecorate" without spending a penny.

Some folks think curio cabinets are passe. But I think they are a great way to display small, seasonal decor items. Changing out items in curio cabinets can also help you showcase items thst truly mean something to you, without contributing to lots of special clutter. :)

Although most commonly associated with Easter, Pysanky eggs can be given and displayed for a variety of celebrations and holidays - including birthdays, anniversaries, and Christmas. Showcase pysanky throughout the year, changing eggs to fit the moment!

Here's a housecleaning tip. Fabric lampshades can gather dust and be a pain to clean. To make it easier, use a lint roller to collect all that dust. Damp cloths can mix with dust and dirt leaving stains on fabric shades. A roller grabs the dust and dirt quickly and safely!

You can really dress up a room for the holidays by placing a festive wreath over a mirror. It's a simple way to change a look with minimal fuss!

My home does not have a fireplace, so I created a festive mantle-like display on a sofa table beneath a large mirror. The clock was moved from another room, but it really does work with the other decorations.

I put the Christmas cards sent to me on a side table along with some treasured holiday decorations. Some of my friends are artists or make their own holiday cards. They make for a fun and unique display.

I'm a big believer in traditional holiday decorations. The decor on and around my Christmas tree have been collected over the last few decades.

Let's talk about artwork for a moment. I keep this piece in my bedroom because it feels happy and just makes me smile when I start my day. Surround yourself with uplifting and inspiring art. It doesn't have to be expensive to bring you joy!

And here is a little bathroom touch that I really enjoy. I used the cover from a cotton holder to cover the glass that I use in the bathroom for mouthwash, medication, etc. It keeps dust or other particles from falling into the glass while it's not in use...and looks great too!

Candles, an old candy dish to hold soap, a gold dipped rose, and an apothecary style liquid soap dispenser for bubble bath...all help give the tub area a bit of decor without being too fussy. In the future, an apothecary jar for soap or bath beads may be added.

@BloobFoxJeffy It's actually a clearance oil dispenser from a kitchen department. I just repurposed it. Not bad for a $2 purchase. :)

You can do very simple things to make a bathroom feel more spa-like. If you plan to keep mouthwash on the counter, put it in a nice glass receptacle instead of the original container. Mine sits with several bottles of cologne.
