✨🪔 Happy Diwali from everyone at JIA-at-NRAS! 🪔✨
Diwali is a time for light, colour, and togetherness — but for those living with Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis (JIA) or Adult Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis (AJIA), the celebrations can sometimes bring extra challenges. Here are a few JIA-friendly ways to make the Festival of Lights more comfortable and enjoyable:
🌼 Pace yourself – Spread out preparations, take breaks, and listen to your body. It’s okay not to do everything in one go. Ask for help if you do need to!
🔥 Stay warm and comfortable – Use heat packs or warm layers if cooler weather makes joints ache.
🪔 Adapt traditions – If sitting on the floor is tough, use supportive chairs or cushions for prayers and meals.
🍬 Be kind to your body – Enjoy treats in moderation, and keep any medication schedules on track.
💛 Don’t hide your limits – It’s okay to rest, say no, or celebrate in quieter ways. Whether you’re celebrating with your family and friends, or taking it easy at home — may your Diwali be full of warmth, joy, and moments that make you smile.
🌟 Happy Diwali from everyone at JIA-at-NRAS! 🌟
