This isn't just a miscarriage of justice but also Jim Crow justice. The all white jury punished a 17 year old Black boy for killing a White bully in self-defence. No I don't think Metcalf should've been killed but it is clear Karmelo Anthony reacted to the imminent threat Metcalfe posed from his physical confrontation and did not plan a premeditated killing. It was self-defence or at the least a lesser charge. Not murder. Why 35 years when white people under the same circumstances or worse get far less sentencing? Rittenhouse claimed self-defence for murder and is free. Rick Chow free for murdering 14 year old Cyrus Carmack-Belton by claiming self-defence. It is ALWAYS a different standard for Black kids.

What happened to Zimbabwe, Uganda, the Congo after they gained independence from the British? It does make the claim harder to win because you lose the legal presumption that your use of force was reasonable. In Adamson’s case, the jury did not fully accept his self-defense claim, which is why they did not grant a complete acquittal. Instead, they convicted him of agg assault with a deadly weapon and sentenced him to four years in prison. The fact that the killing occurred during a drug deal clearly worked against him, my dude.

No one was trying to jump Karmelo, they just wanted him to leave. According to every witness it seemed like Karmelo was there to start trouble and looking for a fight. He said "fuck you all, I'm not leaving" "you all pussies" and told Austin directly "You're not gonna move me, you a bitch" and touch me and see what happens" the entire time he was gripping a hidden knife in his bag. How TF does that translate to him being provoked? He was there to provoke a fight because his entire he has been programmed to hate White people.
