@IronCaniac @Sz1909_Szemberg The referees do not need to see the goal for it to be a goal. Every single goal in the NHL is a judgement call. Like balls and strikes. This isn't new or controversial.

@Sz1909_Szemberg But what if you can’t see that it’s touching the secondary line either? The issue with the Ducks goal wasn’t whether you can determine from the photo that the puck completely crossed the line. It’s whether you can infer that it did when something is blocking what you need to see.

The confusion around Ducks' goal the other day could easily have been avoided with Swiss goal-line "technology". As soon as the puck touches the secondary line, puck is in. Brilliant 🇨🇭
