Currently having my 'break' in a busy entrance waiting room. Not exactly conducive to rest or I imagine the image the trust wants to portray of how it treats its staff especially in the context of the recent 10 point plan to improve resident doctor wellbeing.

Med reg at a large NHS trust tonight. 1 old, unclean recliner chair in an office is seen as acceptable rest facilities for the 5 med registrars on site. We know that fatigue causes prescription errors and patient harm. We also know driving home afterwards is inherently dangerous.

@BenjiNaesen Crazy that there are so many people advocating for running people over in these comments. The fan wasn't even that close. Wtf does a 'yellow card' even matter. Should be ejected from the tour. Apparently nearly ran over several other fans too.

@Tjkey @helloworldbbd Thanks. Although a little confusing - they are supposedly at ‘registrar’ level but then require a registrar review before discharging? No one challenged ‘hey how is this person at reg level - why don’t we have doctors here’?

UHL (Leicester) apparently have got ANPs working at the same level as a ‘junior doctor’ (resident) But these guys don’t have to rotate and hence provide stability Hey Trust CEOs, ‘leaders’ in the NHS, AoMRC, RCEM et al… 1) what foundation do these nurses have that allows them to be at doctor medical knowledge? 2) ever thought *why* we have doctors but they are unemployed yet we’re filling *medical* rotas with nursing teams 3) ever perhaps thought about talking to residents to overhaul the post grad education system Ever just thought about delivering excellence to the public rather than this constant downward spiral to the bottom of the inevitable barrel? Or is it perhaps just too easy to have a seat at the table and smile and nod?

@iDrSunny @helloworldbbd Yes that is correct. Anyone they feel can be discharged must be seen by a registrar or consultant. They can't independently discharge.
