What a weekend! 😄👍 I wanted to say thank you one final time to everyone who showed support this weekend. This game and its community mean everything to me, and I don't know who I would be without it. I wish I could put into words how much I appreciate the messages, conversations, and cheering from the crowd. I guess dreams really do come true ❤️

@I_AM_WILDCAT @RiceRiddler But isn’t it all relative? Kids/adults make trades all the time because they want something. Not because it’s equal value or costs more. I’m not saying I agree with his valuations but sometimes people make choices. Same thing if I was to suscribe to someone and give my money.

@RiceRiddler Doesn’t matter. The Gengar IS actually worth something, even when damaged, and the card he traded to the kid is worthless. His auto is worthless. Just because he charges $100 doesn’t make it worth $100. If that were the case he should charge $1000 and start trading for $500 cards

After watching Jason Paige’s video, I think I’m gonna soften my initially harsh stance against him.
I don’t think he is as malicious as I had previously thought, and I do think the vendor is a bit of an asshole for misrepresenting the situation. The Gengar card in the video is clearly pretty beat up, and not at all worth the $150 everyone was led to believe by the original vendor.
My original point stands however, even if the context is a bit different: us adult collectors, sellers, and vendors need to wield the responsibility of knowledge with care, especially when it comes to selling cards to kids.
Kids, and newcomers in general, are the future of this hobby. Even if you’re an absolute piece of shit who doesn’t want to see kids happy with the cards they buy, a bad early experience will make a new collector quit forever with a bad taste in their mouth.
Doing the right or wrong thing when it comes to business has a ripple effect on the ecosystem- and it starts with one person making that decision.

So who’s in the wrong here? 1) Jason Paige for trading his custom signed card to children at values he has assigned 2) The vendor for allegedly misrepresenting the value/condition of the cards that he traded to the children & accusing Jason Paige of scamming 3) AGS - the AI grading company, for grading these custom/unofficial cards to begin with

@giamariano5 Well in the games many Pokémon are dual typing. For the TCG, the energy cards will depend on the typing as well. It’s important to the games and they don’t really care about collecting issues
