🚩Anti-Boycott Laws don't just target BDS - they set a precedent that political activism can redefined as a crime. Most of all, the Anti-Boycott Laws are to endorse fear and make you feel weak going against the state policies. This time the act was not accepted, but the politicians will take this again to the court. Like the year before. If boycotting Israel could land you 20 years in prison, why shouldn't protest police brutality be next? The LA Protest and their military suppression are a real- world example for how far the government can go against resistance. Anything against their agenda, and you will be the enemy of the state. We will resist further. They are the criminals. They are funding genocide and bombing innocent in Gaza. Stay true and keep boycotting with NoThanks.❤️

A task of herculean proportions at times yet punctuated by informative and insightful stories into a fundamental facet of life, that of the valuable and meaningful production of textiles. #UCC #textilearchaeology

The turnout reflected the admiration felt for Elizabeth/Libby WH. The book was introduced by Rachael Phelan A-ICRI (Art Historian and Textile Conservator), followed by the editor, Mary Ann Williams, who recounted her role in bringing this major work to print.

Today is #WorldCancerDay and this is Liz, in a video recorded just days after she had been told she had Desmoplastic Small Round Cell Tumour. She knew her cancer had a five year survival rate of just 15% but as she made this video for her peers to support her application for head student she reassured them she would be fine. Liz died less than 10 months after this video was made, exactly 10 months after she was diagnosed. Aged 17. Liz was passionate about changing the world for others, in her life as you will hear in this video and in her death by donating her body to Glasgow University for research. Liz was amazing. She battled so hard but without a treatment that is effective against DSRCT she was fighting a battle she couldn’t win. Please help us change things for others. Share Liz’s story, donate if you can, help us to fundraise in whatever way you can. More research is so desperately needed: justgiving.com/crowdfunding/v…

#LizHatton A beautiful angel.
PumpkinsandPost-Its@2ndtimeMama

Our incredible daughter Liz died in the early hours of this morning. She remained determined to the last. Even yesterday she was still making plans. We are so very proud of the kindness, empathy and courage she has shown in the last year. She was not only a phenomenal photographer, she was the best human, and the most wonderful daughter and big sister we could ever have asked for. No one could have fought harder for life than she did. There is a gaping Liz shaped hole in our lives that I am not sure how we will ever fill. We have so much gratitude to every single one of you, whether you offered to help, or liked or shared posts - you ensured Liz’s last two months were her very best. She flew high until the end. We have two last favours to ask. Firstly, we would like to ask you to share one of her photos - on your social media, or in real life, however you can. Let’s let her go out with a bang. #LizHatton (photos will follow in a thread but do also feel free to choose your own from @lizhatton_photography on Instagram) Secondly, if you can we would like you to help us with a mission to raise money to fund research into Desmoplastic Small Round Cell Tumour. With no charity in the UK or internationally funding into effective treatments are lacking. In 2024 a 15% 5 year survival rate is simply not enough. Together we can change that. Whether you can share, donate or raise funds - please be our village one more time. Let’s make this the last item on her bucket list and make sure other families don’t face a similar fate: justgiving.com/crowdfunding/v…

Evidence on the caps showed that ties were once part of the design, but none remained. Contemporary caps were discovered in York, Lincoln, Birka and Masku. The image is copyrighted to the National Museum of Ireland.

#SewlikeaViking For anyone who wants to sew up a Dublin Cap or bonnet, it is described here. As I wrote in a previous post, the pattern was adapted from the finds of wool and silk caps excavated in Viking Wood Quay Dublin. Elizabeth Wincott Heckett analysed
