Carter loves all her pieces, “they are all my babies,” she says but if she had to pick, the Dora Milaje costume from Black Panther was her favorite as it drew from tribes all over!!

The majority of the costumes from Black Panther were created and based on parts from a vast number of African Tribes!

“There are costumes on the set when there is no set!!” Carter says.

Don’t worry about the gym to get a super hero body, their muscles are SCULPTED!! 😂

Carter is most known to today’s generation for her amazing Afro futuristic designs in Black Panther!

Carter worked on Amistad with Steven Spielberg and later won an Oscar for he designs!!

“I feel like (Denzel Washington) is one of the most dedicated actors i have ever worked with” Carter says while explaining that her and Denzel went to Mecca when preparing for the Malcom X movie.

Carter’s first film was School Daze directed by Spike Lee who she connected with as they both graduated from HBCU’s!

Carter has worked with directors such as Spike Lee and John Singleton and actors such as Denzel Washington!

Carter isn’t a designer just for the fashion but is inspired by the faces seen in the image below!

In movies the details are everything. “It boils down to the story telling!”

Carter talks about how the creative process is like cooking, you add a little bit from all over!

“I have been at this longer then some of you have been alive” Carter reflects on her earlier days!
