The reason some plastic packaging says to “recycle at supermarkets” is because this type of plastic (Type 4) can't be recycled at kerbside in all UK regions, but in Leeds it can😀👍. You can put your stretchy shopping bags, bread bags, frozen fruit & veg bags in your green bins.

It's really important to not throw away electrical items in your black or green bin as they can present a fire hazard. Instead find your nearest electrical items recycling bank on the map at ow.ly/HNKD50CMPjR #Recycle

You don't have to remove the labels from glass bottles/jars before recycling. URM who collect the glass from LCC glass banks use equipment to remove the labels by using heat and friction to rub the paper off. The resulting fine dust is aggregate used to manufacture blocks.

Last year we saved over 50 tonnes of metal from entering landfills. That's roughly the same weight as 7.5 T-Rex. We think that is pretty...dino-mite! We are open again this weekend for donations and bike sales.
