Daily precipitation amounts in Weather Strip now include rain and snow icons for clarity (below the weekly timeline). 💧❄️ You can enable daily precipitation from the app settings screen. Lack of a number signifies little or no significant accumulation that day.

Weather Strip now includes aurora forecasts! The green area is the likelihood of seeing the Northern/Southern Lights based on NOAA space weather forecasts. (Enable in the settings screen under Experimental.)

The latest version of Weather Strip (1.9.3) has a new "share" button that creates forecast images like this:

@WeatherStripApp been absolutely loving your app for over a year now i think? Curious if there are any plans to provide Apple Watch complications? or do you think its too small? Would love to be able to see weather strip on my wrist. Thanks!

@WeatherStripApp Do you see any chance of adding some additional forecast providers like MET, ECMWF, ALADIN, ICON or AROME, maybe in a extra subscription? The product is only as good as its ingredients.

All ten home screen widgets in Weather Strip have been updated to support dark and tinted home screens in iOS 18!

@MaxFruehauf To see the tinted widgets, you'll need to put your home screen in tinted mode (long-press on home screen > Edit > Customize > Tinted).

Which time scale would you prefer?

Quick poll: which time scale would you prefer for hourly widgets? (1) shows the temperature each hour for 11-12 hours (2) shows every other temperature for 14-15 hours

@the_mih Yes, it’s the iPad version which has also been tested and tweaked for Mac compatibility.

@ChrisNguyenPhD @robinstewart Thanks! No, sorry about that. Every weather request costs money, and the app needs ongoing work to keep up with Apple updates, so I haven’t wanted to take on the risk of upfront purchases. It reduces risk for you too, since you don’t pay for more than a year. 😄

@geoffeg Thanks! Will look into it. (Though I like the idea of earthquake mode! 🙃) If you don't mind, please also submit a problem report from within the app — that will include some system info to help us reproduce the issue.

@thisisfats Thanks! I’ve added your vote for historical weather access. Currently if you use two fingers, you can drag the timeline back about 8 hours!

@WeatherStripApp Trialling it right now and the UI is so good! Could you also consider having a “look back window” (24 hours? More?) None of the apps i’ve installed so far have that, but it’d be useful to get a sense of comparative rainfall, wind, etc.
