Some things I noticed about Brazilian 🇧🇷 culture during my long stay:
1- Probably the cleanest people ever. I went to very crowded areas, and not a single person smells even when it’s hot. Stats support that, they shower more than any other population. 2-3 times every single day.
Also, hand held bidets everywhere, floss dispensers in public bathrooms, they love incense, and never seen so many people brushing their teeth in public bathrooms. Streets are also very clean.
2. very proud and patriotic people, they love being Brazilian, but also, incredibly respectful and very loving of other cultures and dont have a superiority complex. Good combination.
3. Brazil is incredibly good at absorbing cultures and turning them just Brazilian. Nobody here is hyphenated-Brazilian or says their heritage or ethnicity as their nationality, a true melting pot.
4- there’s a lot of inequality and poor people, the favelas (5% of the whole population) are real but also, a huge middle class and lots of wealthy people, and the middle class areas are HUGE, bigger than many cities, and you can easily forget about the other side, which in a way isnt ideal, also very clean and incredibly well developed.
5- Rio de Janeiro is the most fitness obsessed city I have seen. Tonnes of public gyms, runners, tonnes of people of all ages playing beach sports all the time.
