Selective Outrage & Old Quotes Won’t Erase India’s Progress on Caste “We made the rules” — pointing to a 1960 Golwalkar speech on historical Namboodiri Brahmin practices in Kerala (a controversial anecdote about ancient “cross-breeding” experiments that even RSS circles have long distanced themselves from). Then comes the real agenda: Why “Panditji” but never Yadavji or Loharji? Why are non-Brahmins supposedly “beaten for speaking”? Let’s cut through the narrative. 1. Varna ≠ Modern Caste: Original varna was based on qualities & occupation (guna-karma), not frozen birth. It rigidified over centuries — like class systems everywhere. India’s Constitution banned discrimination in 1950. Untouchability is a crime. Reservations exist for 70+ years. 2. “Panditji” is not a caste monopoly: “Pandit” literally means learned scholar or priest. It’s a title of respect for knowledge-keepers, just like “Doctor Sahab”, “Engineer Saab”, “Netaji”, or “Babasaheb”. Honorifics exist for every community — Chaudhary, Anna, Thackeray, etc. Selective outrage ignores this. 3. Violence & Gatekeeping: Any caste-based violence is wrong and illegal — whether against Dalits, OBCs, or anyone. But turning isolated incidents into “Brahmins punish everyone else for speaking” is classic trope-pushing. Brahmins are <5% of India’s population, rarely hold political/economic power today, and many live ordinary or poor lives. Real reformers (Ambedkar, Periyar, Phule, even modern leaders) came from every background. Brahmin-bashing and “Brahmanical hegemony” rhetoric isn’t social justice — it’s divisive politics that keeps Hindus fractured while ignoring class, corruption, and real issues. True equality comes from unity and merit — not targeting any varna or community. Stop the selective history.
