Yes, the South African government is misleading in that claim. Laws such as the Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment Act and the Employment Equity Act mandate racial quotas for hiring, promotions, ownership, and procurement to favor historically disadvantaged groups defined by race. These policies explicitly regulate economic and employment decisions based on racial classification, contradicting the assertion of no race-regulated laws.

@Rolandschoeman Do you think 30 years erases the 400 years of colonialism and apartheid to add to it … Amongst what the anc inherited they are not racial policies … they are policies premised on readdressing the imbalances of the past Do you know the effects of apartheid?

Let me try help you here, because the mental gymnastics here are something else and I’m scared you hurt yourself. 1.“The ANC inherited a bankrupt state.” Really? In 1994, the Rand was sitting at R3.55 to the dollar. Today? R19 and climbing. National debt in 1994? R194 billion. Now? Over R4.8 TRILLION. And before you start with the tired “colonial looting” excuse, explain how over R1.5 TRILLION has been stolen through ANC corruption. That’s not “inheriting” a bankrupt state. That’s running it into the ground. 2.“Guess who looted it?” If you’re looking for looters, try the ANC leadership. Ever heard of State Capture? R500 BILLION vanished under Zuma’s presidency alone. Eskom? Looted. Transnet? Looted. PRASA? Looted. Local municipalities? Looted. The Guptas ran South Africa like their personal playground, while ANC politicians lined their pockets. So no, the country wasn’t “looted” before 1994—it’s been looted non-stop since. 3.“They never touched the economy, hence it’s still a mirror of apartheid.” Are you joking? The ANC introduced racial hiring quotas, BEE policies, land expropriation threats, and excessive taxation, all while letting government departments collapse under incompetence. South Africa was once an economic powerhouse. Now? Unemployment has TRIPLED. The government had billions in foreign investment ready to go, and they chased it all away with disastrous policies. 4.“Whites have resisted selling land to the government.” You mean the 5,000+ farms the government already bought and then completely mismanaged? They were redistributed to people with no farming experience, and guess what? They collapsed. This isn’t about “whites refusing to sell land.” The ANC had land, they had opportunities, and they destroyed them all. Zimbabwe played this game too, and we all saw how that turned out. The ANC didn’t inherit a “bankrupt” state. They inherited Africa’s most advanced economy and trashed it in record time. Loadshedding, mass unemployment, record crime, failing infrastructure, a collapsing Rand—every single problem we’re dealing with today is a direct result of ANC corruption and failure. But sure, keep blaming apartheid. Anything to avoid admitting the real issue, right?

@Rolandschoeman Can't believe we cheered a racist in the Olympics. @Rolandschoeman has been twitting about farm murder and government incompetences for almost two weeks. He didn't engage in Zonzou video, why he disliked black South Africans, what matters to him are white folks 🤔

Culturally homeless. My roots trace back to the 1600s, Protestant ancestors who fled persecution to build a life in South Africa. Yet, in 2025, I feel adrift. Not quite European, not fully embraced as African. It's a strange place to be, where history runs deep, but home feels lost. I speak Afrikaans, my family's bones are in this soil, but identity politics and race-based laws make belonging complicated.

I have never read a more disgusting article posted by a media outlet such as the one published by @dailymaverick today. The article is laden with sarcasm, irony, and satire, with instances of blatant polarization and racism. The death DM can't come soon enough. The irony and hypocrisy of the author here is that he attempts to expose the absurdity of certain racial and political narratives in South Africa, highlighting how they can lead to or be used to justify polarization and racism. However, the satire itself is polarizing and reinforces stereotypes. The mock apology and patronizing tone belittle the actual issues and experiences of people living in South Africa. References to @realDonaldTrump and @afriforum who are criticized for advocating for white minority rights in South Africa is a clear manipulation of political rhetoric and the author's racial agenda. Trash media man.

Thank you @POTUS and @elonmusk for having the balls to shine a light on South Africa's discriminatory policies, the west has long turned a blind eye on unfair social policies that didn't suit their narrative. Finally, strength has returned to the USA, and hopefully the west.

@PlethMod @MickeyDangerez @ZakheB @RenaldoGouws Are you mad? The first thing south african recruiters look at on your cv is your race. BBEEE companies and corporations cannot do business with other BBEEE businesses if their 90% black workforce quotas are not met. How is that biased towards white peoples success?

@MickeyDangerez @ZakheB @RenaldoGouws You couldn't even find success in a country biased towards your success, and now you are heading on a golden ticket (based on misinformation) to the US. Tell me again how you are having to work harder than black South Africans? I wish you the best in your new country. 🙂👍🏽

The biggest lie ever sold is that the vast majority of white South Africans got land for free. This is a blatant lie spread by the ANC/EFF/MK. Most white South Africans are either paying their bond (mortgage) every month or they have already settled it over the loan period. This notion that land was stolen and people received it for free is relevant to the 1600's, and even then the Xhosa, Zulu, Afrikaner and English are all guilty of it. The reason I say this is because the original landowners were the KhoiKhoi and San people. If anyone in this country had a legitimate claim to land being stolen it would be them. People tend to forget that during the 1600's, wars were fought over minerals and land, this wasn't something unique to South Africa. It was the expansion of global empires.
