Everyone is running with emotions here. Birth of your child is important, Leaving the World Cup to go witness the birth of your child?….. Coming to the World Cup is like going to war for your country, will a soldier leave the war front and go home because his wife is about to give birth?
And it’s not even just about that. If he knew from the start he wasn’t going to stay till the end, why accept the call-up in the first place? Why not reject it outright and let someone else take that spot?
International tournaments are built on commitment, sacrifice, and team unity. One player leaving in the middle of it disrupts preparation, changes plans, and creates unnecessary distractions in camp. At that level, every detail matters.
Family is important, no doubt. But timing matters too. And once you answer that call, especially for the biggest tournament in football, your responsibility shifts to the team until the mission is done.

A lot of women don’t care whether a man is handsome, ugly, a cheater, married, boring, or even has a questionable character. As long as he has money, power, influence, status, and connections, many will still date him, sleep with him, or even marry him.
If they had cast a fine boy for the role, the message wouldn’t have hit as hard. Jonasi’s character was the message.
