@_LFGolf Focusing on each shot instead of focusing the entire time is the key. Trying to focus for the entire round especially during a multi day event is impossible. The skill is the ability to pivot in and out of the zone. (In the zone during preparation and out between)

How do you stay in the zone for 18 holes of golf? Mental focus has to be the most impressive part of the professional level

Anyone use one of these? I am interested. But with a 31 putt round avg and best rounds at 27 or better. Not sure i really need one. Lag putting could be better but inside 10 feet is good. @labgolfputters

I strongly believe in the "stretching your comfort zone" concept. Under pressure you don't rise to the occasion, you drop to the level of your training. So make your training tougher. Which it sounds like you're doing here. And on the micro doses, always pushing yourself JUST beyond your current comfort zone is best for optimal improvement.

I’m only one round in to my simulator golf tournament experience, but I feel like these may offer just the right level of nerves/focus to play some decent golf. Starting out with 5 birdies yesterday, I definitely felt some of the same things that come up for me mentally when I have a good tournament round going (namely loss avoidance, fear of disaster holes, a desire to post a number and be done with it). I’m hoping that by playing in a lot of these, I’ll get familiar enough with the micro-doses of what I feel in an actual tournament that I’ll be better equipped to deal with those thoughts and emotions. Any thoughts or advice @joshlukenichols et, al?

Hearing Rory McIlroy talk about a world Tour with the best 80 players traveling to international destinations leaves out a glaring reality. LIV Golf is that ‘Global Tour’. From the beginning, it’s been clear how this will all end up.  So, what’s the hold up? LIV Golf will be going around the world at stops where new legions of fans will come to see the superstars play. Anyone that’s objective has also seen the different Tours should feed into LIV Golf (the superstar tour). tinyurl.com/4skdfekk I’m glad Rory now sees the vision. Yasir Al-Rumayyan should do what it takes to get Rory on board.  That’s a hard one to swallow for a lot of people but it makes the most business sense. But, that also means Rory needs to show maturity and put petty grievances towards Greg Norman and Phil Mickelson in the rear view mirror. All of this is so clear and easy to see.  So, what’s getting in the way?  I can tell you it’s all about power, money, and control. In the past, I encouraged PGA Tour players to stand up and be strong like Tiger.  They’ve done that.  But, they also are now overplaying their hand. SSG and Tiger Woods need to understand they can’t force Yasir Al-Rumayyan and PIF to invest in the PGA Tour and shutter LIV Golf as a condition. That’s not going to happen. Al-Rumayyan is committed to LIV Golf and it’s not going away. Ironically, the person I encouraged the players to emulate in strength was Tiger.  Unfortunately, we now have to ask if he is the problem?      The history of the PGA Tour and its future success and LIV Golf are not mutually exclusive. The PGA Tour is too big of a ship to turn on a dime and is encumbered in TV contracts and archaic tournament structures.  The PGA Tour is going to burn through SSG’s money and a pile of rubble is looming. If my hunch is right, Tiger has made his point and needs to bring all of this together.  If he doesn’t, he risks his iconic status and the discussions around him will not be about golf. I can also tell you that generations of kids around the world that didn’t grow up with Tiger will leave him behind. That would be a tragedy because of everything Tiger Woods brought to golf. @TigerWoods @livgolf_league @McIlroyRory @PIF_en @SharkGregNorman @PhilMickelson @LIVGolfComms @PGATOURComms @PGATOUR Commentary and Opinion by Bob “Golf” Ball

Get It Done Yasir and Jay Getting to an agreement in golf shouldn’t be that difficult for Yasir Al-Rumayyan and Jay Monahan this week. The only thing getting in the way are egos, stale thinking, and desire to hold onto power by the old guard. Like it or not, what I’m suggesting is where it’s going to end up anyway (either the easy or hard way) because it’s what makes the most business sense) and it solves the DOJ and journeymen pay disparity issues. It’s imperative The PGA Tour keep its’ current format, traditions, values, and support of charities. There’s too much history to let go by the wayside. To compete with LIV, the Tour hastily created new ‘no cut’ elevated events with bigger paydays and a PIP that’s unaffordable. It’s caused rancor with Journeymen players, The Tour needs to do away with those and go back to a schedule that’s financially viable for all involved – including the sponsors. The WM Open, The Players, and the Majors continue to be elevated. Pick four or five of the 2023 elevated events that are being done away with (as elevated) and have them become the U.S. stops for LIV. That keeps them elevated but also is a way to integrate LIV into the PGA Tour umbrella in the United State. It makes the most business sense and the reality is LIV is going to be where players strive to play onto in addition to winning Majors. The meritocracy survives and the value of teams is realized. Having LIV be elevated PGA Tour events solves the journeymen vs. superstar pay disparities as well because, if you’re on LIV, you played your way into the top tier and with it comes the big team signing bonuses, bigger purses, worldwide stardom, and better schedule. At the same time, all LIV events should be sanctioned PGA Tour events. Of course, OWGR (or a successor) points should be awarded for any Tour. That’s doable in some mathematical way. As players get relegated down from LIV, they should be exempt for a period as they go back onto their previous tour. After that, they need to earn their spot as before. LIV players should be able to also play events on any Tours around the world that feed into LIV. Keeping LIV separate but also making all LIV events sanctioned PGA Tour events (or at least under the merged golf umbrella) solves another problem. When the DOJ looks at the final agreement, is going to look at the outcome and decide if a monopoly has been created (or maintained). For that reason alone, they should stay separate but related. All of nonsense about player fines, etc… should be stopped. Besides, the players that didn’t go to LIV have already been rewarded through the ridiculous PIP that was just announced (the journeymen are so right about that but in reality, it paid back PGA Tour members that didn’t go). Like I said earlier, golf is eventually going to end up here anyway because it makes the most business sense and creates the most value so the question is whether the negotiators this week make this easy or not. @PGATOUR @PGATOURComms @PIF_en @livgolf_league @LIVGolfComms @TigerWoods @PhilMickelson @hoffman_charley

My idea is a six-tier system. Each tier is referred to as a “Level” with the top level being a world tour for the best players.

It has been a tumultuous couple of years in the world of professional golf. As the dust begins to settle around all of the controversy and obscenely high purses, it’s become evident that the current structure of pro-golf may be in need of a redesign.
