@amnestyghana we’re then ushered into an era of silent but active ongoing oppression but regardless, we ought to stand our grounds and voice out!

@ekajiibe Faith is directed toward the gospel message, and the gospel centers on Jesus Christ (Rom 1:1 – 2), hence faith before regeneration doesn’t mean faith is inherently generated in the depraved man.

@_andyelorm The Lord chooses and moves first upon our hearts, and we believe. This is the answer of the scripture. See Ephesians 1:11-13.

Unless regeneration takes places first, there is no possibility of faith. This is the witness of the scripture — dead men cannot co-operate with grace unless God awakens their hearts to Him. It is the Lord who reaches out to the lost and redeems, God is the first mover in salvation. “The mind governed by the flesh is hostile to God; it does not submit to God’s law, nor can it do so. Those who are in the realm of the flesh cannot please God.” - Romans 8:7-8. Because of Adam sin, we are all born with a natural desire for rebellion, self-interest and disobedience. This is why the Lord said through the Psalmist; “There is no one righteous, not even one, there is no one who understands, there is no one who seeks God”. How then can sinful men exercise faith in a God they are averse to except through an external and superior influence? How can men who glory in the idols of their hearts and want to be god unto themselves submit to the precepts of God if not by a renewal of their wills and heart by the very one who made them? This text in Ephesians sums it all up — “As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient. All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our flesh and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature deserving of wrath. But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved” - Ephesians 2:1-5. Salvation from beginning to end is entirely a work of God. No man can come to Christ unless the Lord brings Him. Yes, God calls us to repent and turn to Him; yes, God calls us to proclaim His gospel for all nations to return to Him but this does not happen without the convicting power of the gospel to call light out of darkened hearts — salvation is of the Lord alone. It is He who calls men sovereignly without doing injury to their free will. Such that their faith is truly theirs but wholly dependent on His grace.

@ekajiibe “faith comes from what is heard” (Rom 10:17), and one can scarcely believe in the gospel without knowing its contents. The contents therefore are the works of Christ the faith that saves us is not just any faith. What makes faith salvific is the object of faith- Christ

@ekajiibe But Paul also said we were dead in sin and trespasses, I don't see Paul saying God regenerates us before we come to faith. All I see is, God who is rich in mercy made us alive in Christ, out of his love. And he concludes that this is truly and purely God's grace at work.

@amnestyghana Once ostracized, such elderly persons are stigmatized, deserted and subjected to neglect by family members who feel justified in being absolved of their responsibilities of providing care and other kinds of help Let’s amplify our voices against witchcraft accusations.

On Monday 14th April 2025, we came together to shed light on a deeply rooted injustice. Under the theme ‘Branded for Life: How Witchcraft Accusations Lead to Human Rights Violations of Women in the North’, we explored the harsh realities women face and reaffirmed our commitment to justice, dignity, and human rights for all. The fight against stigma continues. @JDMahama @NJOAgyemang @fx_sosu @naamomolartey #iamnotawitch #amnestyghana #amnestyinternational

@amnestyghana i agree with Oliver’s comments on the mentality of most Ghanaians that, “nothing will come out of it.” my question is what can be done to change this mentality and get more young people to be actively involved in protests? do we need more results out of these protests?
