3,237 messages from students, teachers, community members, and a small group of visionary leaders, collected throughout 2025, are now laser-inscribed into a 5D crystal headed to the Moon — to capture who we are as humanity at this moment in time. Moon Mission students didn’t just “learn about space.” They built Python time capsules, practiced real technical skills, explored careers, and saw their work become part of a real lunar mission. The crystal is scheduled to be integrated on @Astrolab_Space's FLEX Lunar Innovation Platform (FLIP) rover in February, along with a mission patch and artwork by @DrSianProctor. This will be among the first mission patches to return to the Moon since the Apollo era! Stories of Space helped collect messages globally, with additional patches and collaborative messaging from the Institute Of Noetic Sciences, Global Consciousness Project 2.0, and @SpaceHumanity. Launch is currently targeting 2026 on board @astrobotic's Griffin Mission One. The crystal will remain on the Moon, preserved for potentially millions of years. Participating collaborative events and programs include Disney Dreamers, LACOE Engage Girls in STEM, Salt Lake City School District, Salt Lake Education Foundation, Denver Public Schools, Mid-Del School District, @47G_Utah , SheTech with the Women Tech Council, and more. We were honored to collaborate with the @UVU Prep program to inspire over 80 students through immersive, VR-based learning. Students and teachers launched into a virtual reality mission to space and wrote personal messages that will travel to the Moon aboard @Astrolab_Space's FLIP rover later this year. A powerful highlight was seeing participants face-to-face with a U.S. flag flown aboard Apollo 11 to the Moon, generously shared by @BrandonFugal—a moving connection to the legacy of exploration and human achievement. The following day, we led a teacher training at the @UTBoardofEd’s CCA Conference, equipping educators with tools to bring VR and immersive education into the classroom.
