And there’s another angle that doesn’t get talked about enough. Being wrong fast is a skill. But knowing which wrong to be fast about is a different skill entirely. Not every loss is the same signal. There’s a difference between being wrong because the market is irrational in the short term and being wrong because your original thesis was broken from the start. The first one, sometimes patience is actually the right call. The second one, you should have been out yesterday. Most people can’t tell the difference in the moment. And that’s the real problem. They either cut everything reflexively and miss the recovery, or they hold everything stubbornly and ride it to zero. Both are lazy. Both are just avoiding the harder cognitive work of asking: is the thesis still intact, or did I just not want to be wrong? That question is brutally difficult to answer honestly.
