• great characters, prose, twists, reveals
• loved take on time traveling
• cared about the mcs individually but wasn’t too convinced about them as a couple bc lack of emotional intimacy
• second part was too similar to the first and got boring quick

Some ppl do this funny thing where if they find out someone has read way more books than them, they immediately try to devalue the reading in some way. As if that matters or somehow makes them better. It’s always ‘Theyre short!’ ‘Theyre romance!’ ‘Theyre booktok slop’.

the writing, story and characters are all amazing so i definitely want to finish it. i’m just not connecting with the romance which is a big part of the story, but i’m still intrigued to see how it ends!

@annoteren queen i have never dnf’d a book in my life 😭 i just can’t do it somehow, even if it’s bad bad. but anyway i’m gonna come back to it, bc there’s only a 100 pages left and it’s not the worst thing i ever read. what abt your book?

@annoteren red city by marie lu!! i was so excited to read it bc i read two of her other books last month and loved them but i just can’t connect with the characters and i only have 100 pages left. i loveee the magic system and the concept plot is interesting too but yeah… paused it
