RE Veronica Producer confirms WHY they chose Code: Veronica as the next remake:
When I asked the producer why not remake RE1 before Code: Veronica he said that when Capcom asked the dev team which game they wanted to remake after they finished working on RE4R, they said that RE4 was the continuation of Leon's story after RE2, and now they wanted to go back and develop the continuation of Clair's story after the events of RE2 so that the story of RE2's 2 protagonists felt complete.

This is where I’m at with Shion, at least for right now? She has cool ideas but having our first female omnic look humanoid and more conventional is a bit disappointing, on top of how female hero designs have felt to me recently. I am happy we’re finally getting omnics, tho!

You just know they had some banger concept art with her but ended up going with the design that has a conventional face and human teeth and tongue?? Why even bother with the speaking through the neck thing if her mouth isn't permanently wired shut like it were part of a mask
