Sultan Hassan Nooraddeen abdicated the throne on April 8, 1943. Al-Amir Hassan Nooraddeen was born on July 27, 1885. Prior to ascending the throne, he was commonly known as Maajehi Gan'duvaru Manippulhu, and was also referred to as Eggamugey Manippulhu. He was the son of Sultan Mohamed Mueenuddeen II (Kuda Bandaraim), who was the son of Prince Hassan Izzuddeen, the son of Sultan Mohamed Imaduddeen IV (Muskulhi Bandaarain) of the Huraa Dynasty.
