@Spongnamous This is a good way to start, but I highly recommend that you keep all the pixels at the same size as to not get the “so retro” type comments. Consistency and accuracy is key.

Guys - There's nothing wrong with using a reference heavily, it's how you go about doing it. When you study, you're essentially learning techniques. You don't learn anything editing over a color reduction, and it's a slimy practice.
