@MsUndyneVR @KimanoQ Granted, that's entirely VRChat's fault. I don't know why they decided that all avatars should download at once. If I join with full culling on and slowly show avatars, everything is fine. VRChat just downloads EVERYTHING at the exact same time otherwise, which is what causes lag

@KimanoQ Shield mode doesnt prevent vrc to download the uncompressed size of all the avatar around you, in a populated instance this will produce a huge lag or multiple lag spikes, also even with a shield on, crashers are able to act and crash you regardless.

Ngl this is the dumbest update I've ever seen. Worse than fortnite price range update. It had a good thought behind it but execution is so ass. Its not so hard to use shield mode, hide peoples avatar or use the show avatar circle range or whatever its called. Time to make a png avatar, cause base booth models are already unoptimized. And unfriend whoever uses this stupid feature.
