How graceful of a leader we had. Always lifted others up. She was going to give me her spot just before she made history!!! Forever will miss Sarah. ❤️ She would have loved watching were we have come.
Watching big air reminds me of this one time in Whistler. I was first alternate (of three competing, sadly for us girls compared to ten guys)…I heard a rumor that Sarah was dropping out so I asked her. She was not actually dropping out, but offered her spot to me. Cont in thread

With this data & the health of our children in mind, I sent a letter to members of @slccouncil strongly recommending that tomorrow when they vote on whether or not to extend our emergency order, they continue these requirements in our City’s K-12 schools slc.gov/mayor/2021/09/…
Letters like these remind me daily of the importance of protecting our children. Dr. Dunn just sent new data that SLCSD has 42 new cases/10,000 population in the last 14 days, and the lowest rate of COVID-19 cases since the first day of school among our county's 5 districts
According to Dr. Angela Dunn and available data from the Salt Lake County Health Department, at 57 new cases per 10,000 population, Salt Lake City School District has the lowest rate of COVID-19 cases since the first day of school among the county’s five school districts.
HAPPENING NOW: @slcmayor reports at a press conference that the K-12 mask requirement is working and she's asking the City Council to vote tomorrow to keep the emergency order in place to continue protecting school children in Salt Lake City.
@TamaraVaifanua You should read East High’s newsletter. It is clear the district cannot enforce the @slcmayor mandate. So enforcement will be through authoritative pressure and embarrassment. @slcschools
“We don’t want to humiliate students. We don’t want to point them out and embarrass them.”
The Salt Lake City School District clarifies their enforcement of the mask mandate after parents express frustration.
