@binaryfootball @FootballEra_ Thanks for the objective input. Also want to add that most players don't adapt well in the first season under Pep.

They signed Nico Gonzalez for £65m in 2025 January window just because Rodri got injured, he wasn’t good enough, and they binned him. They signed Reijnders last summer for £70m, used him for a few games, he wasn’t good enough, they binned him instantly. Now they’re about to sign Elliot Anderson for £100m. That’s close to £250m spent on a single position in the space of a year, no other club has that kind of financial luxury. This is what Arsenal are up against, financial cheats with endless pool of blood money. All their trophies are asterisked in my eyes.
Fabrizio Romano@FabrizioRomano

🚨 Manchester City are prepared to make a very important financial proposal to Elliot Anderson, leading the race as revealed since March. Manchester United still attentive and keen if Man City deal won’t happen. Nothing advanced with Forest yet. 🎥 youtu.be/3Ig8tR8OcHs

@FootballEra_ Yep, that was my point and the key takeaway here. But that doesn’t prevent Arsenal winning the title from here with easier fixtures.

The more Elliot Anderson stuff pops up on my timeline, the more I’m starting to think this is low-key title mind games from a media department that knows exactly how the Arsenal culture will react to the idea that competing with City is impossible.

Now imagine being a City fan, on a day of high jinks, the lads about to lift the Championship title, and you're holding a slip that says 'Stuart Pearce to score the last goal at 22/1' that pays for a nice trip to Kardamena...
Stu’s Football Flashbacks@stusfootyflash

On Stuart Pearce’s 64th birthday, a reminder of his final match as a player in 2002. Stuck on 99 career goals, an injury time penalty is given at Maine Road. Dave Beasant even tells Pearce he’s going to stand still. The scene is set to retire in style…

After 10 months working inside professional football, I'm back. The World Cup starts in 51 days. I've been building something for it. More this week. Glad to be back.

Fearless people are not impressive. What's impressive is the terrified person who acts anyway. You can only be brave when you're scared.

I'm generally unpleasant to be around. I prefer being alone. I hate being out of routine for more than 2-3 days. I'm either thinking about nothing or everything with little in between. I say no to almost everything that gets in the way. At first I thought it was a character flaw and tried to change it. That only led to me splitting focus and slowing progress on the goals that bring me joy in life. When I observe people I look up to, their mission comes first. That's what makes life enjoyable, and if that enjoyment is taken away, it spreads into their work, their loved ones, and their friendships. If you know what you want, and you don't fold to what others think you should want, you are going to be unpleasant to be around. That isn't something to be ashamed of but embraced. In fact, you'll find that people want to be around you more because they trust you. They can feel that you aren't putting on an act like everyone else.

Some City fans saying things they shouldn’t be saying right now. Yes, we’re all thinking it. But let’s not forget we’ve been without Rodri all season, You’ve got to be absolutely sure before you ditch the best coach of all time. Just because everyone knows how to play against us now doesn’t mean it can be stopped when everything is in sync and the details are on-point. Let’s see what happens next season and give the man the autonomy and respect he deserves.

Fair play. Serious business. Anything less would have been an oversight.

Post-match celebrations always intriguing in the play-offs and it's clearly been on Chris Wilder's mind Manhandling his Sheff Utd players on when to go to the away end, and when enough was enough. Don't milk it. Make the gesture. Back on the coach. Let's get out of here.

Sheff Utd have never been promoted in 8 play-off campaigns. The other 3 Championship teams combined have only managed 2 promotions in 13 attempts. Don't fall too hard for the common narrative. It's all relative.
