I don't know. I used to think I had an idea, but I just don't know now. JJM needs reps, but I also know the NFL is a win now business so I don't see the franchise "hoping" he does well this year because jobs could be on the line. KOC needs a playoff win. I know they like him, but they like wins too. I know I post a lot on here regarding JJM. I don't hate the kid. He's had some bad things fall out of his control. I just know we have three QBs that could actually start and it's going to be wild to see who rises to the top.

I'll leave this here for constructive debate. Let's not name call; let's all be adult about this. There's obviously a QB battle in MN, but there was one QB who was barely mentioned this week- Carson Wentz. KOC said he knows what he has in Wentz. Last year, Wentz was effective at moving the ball, got the ball to Jettas on the regular, and did this while battling an injury in some of those games. Also, side note, defense wasn't playing lights out at that time either. That said, is the REAL battle for QB going to be between the winner of Murray/McCarthy vs. Wentz? Debate discuss our thoughts...

@canedad19 Yea I think JJ just needs the reps at this point. Wentz deff a back up to have because of the experience. I think koc is surprised how much Murray is struggling. I think he was prepared to hand him the job but it sounds like he’s struggling now

We've got a real, three-way, QB battle in my opinion. Agree on holding the ball too long- people said the same about Kirk Cousins. I do think KOCs offensive schemes take a long time to develop, which does lead to the QB holding the ball too long in some cases. In my opinion, we've got three very average QBs in the room. I think Murray and Wentz would be more productive than JJM, but only because of time under center, game speed, and playing time. It's going to be super interesting to see who wins out, but it would surprise at all to see more of Wentz in that battle for number one.

@headcoach21 So then what are we supposed to do for the competition? Just start Kyler who got benched for Jacoby Brissett and then released for 30 mil, even if JJ outplays him all throughout camp?

Last year McCarthy had a good spring and training camp so this means nothing…

One week ago, Alec Lewis was having about how Kyler Murray was leagues better than JJ McCarthy. Now he is saying they are even. To make up so much ground so quickly means JJ dramatically outpaced Kyler through OTAs. Keep in mind that these 7-on-7 drills are the best it gets for Kyler. He only gets WORSE when the pads come on and linenen enter the picture. Starting to believe McCarthy starts week 1.

Phil Mackey said he thinks it’s a 90% likelihood JJ gets traded just a week ago. He has also remained “JJ curious” even when seemingly everyone had written him off.
The world needs to be more open to the fact that they really know nothing and their perspective isn’t gospel.
