On my mission, we were riding the train from Baltimore to Owings Mills which is a 30-40 minute train ride. We started chatting with this man who said he was traveling up to see his adult son whom was in the hospital. He had been doing this every day for months. He asked if we would give his son a blessing - so we got off the train at his stop and walked to the hospital. The son was unresponsive from an accident he had been in. I watched as the father gently moved his son around to a position that looked comfortable. He applied chapstick to his chapped lips. He comforted him as much as he could before he had to catch the train back to Baltimore. The son couldn’t show his gratitude. I’m not even sure if he knew we were there. His dad continued to show up every single day. It is the most selfless act I have ever witnessed. The father has sacrificed his life to tend to his son every single day after work and every weekend. For a son who may not even realize he is there. I reflected on that a lot moment over Easter weekend and the sacrifice Our Savior has made for us, even those that don’t believe or realize He is there.
