Police arrested Sturgeon. She no commented the interview. She then provided details of her own choice, in writing. Police had more Qs. So, they asked her for a witness statement (after saying she wouldn't be charged). She refused.

Nicola Sturgeon may be cleared of criminal wrongdoing, but she is not cleared of scrutiny. The Murrell plea deal raises obvious questions about who was protected from further embarrassment. There must be an inquiry.

So England player DJed Spencer sought to humiliate Ghana’s Thomas Partey by refusing to acknowledge him by shaking hands before the start of their football match yesterday.
As we are all aware, Partey has been charged with sexual offences. There are two things that Spencer should be aware of.
1. Across most countries in this world guilt must be established through evidence. To be found guilty one has to be aware that ‘beyond reasonable doubt’ must be the yardstick.
Presuming innocence helps protect people from wrongful conviction, political persecution, false accusations, and abuses of power. You must be aware of that.
2. By your actions you have inadvertently damaged the prospects of Thomas Partey receiving a fair trial. Your grandstanding self righteous position goes against the principles established within your own belief system.
You are a Muslim. In fact you are the first openly Muslim person to play for England. So let me remind you of what your religion says about your actions.
A well known legal maxim in Islamic jurisprudence is-
‘The basic rule is that a person is free from liability and blame until evidence establishes otherwise’. That has not yet happened in Mr Parteys case.
Classical Islamic jurists are insistent that ‘an accusation alone is not sufficient to establish guilt’ and ‘the accuser bears the burden of producing evidence and that doubt should favour the accused’.
Next time you seek to grandstand on the world stage seeking to damage another presumed innocent person you might want to consider that you self righteous hypocrite.

Even though the instruction was “no handshake, no talking,” mehn… look at what happened after the final whistle — Declan Rice still went over and hugged Thomas Partey at full time.
That says a lot about his character. Respect, maturity, and pure class on and off the pitch.
No doubt moments like this show why he’s seen as a natural leader — he genuinely looks like someone who could wear the armband for both England and Arsenal one day.

Djed Spence appeared to avoid shaking hands with Thomas Partey before England's World Cup clash with Ghana in Boston. While the rest of the England squad greeted Partey during the pre-match handshakes, Spence withdrew his hand and placed it in his jacket pocket as the Ghana midfielder approached, before resuming handshakes afterward. I don’t know the full story, and there may be reasons we’re unaware of, but from the outside looking in, it wasn’t a good look. Football needs rivalry, but it also needs respect.
