Where you live right now, would $2 million in liquid net worth be enough for you to retire today?

@Investmentkage When you stop comparing to others and define it for yourself. My property taxes for 20 acres, off-grid in MT are 221.00/yr.... Define it for yourself

Me and my partner have a net-worth of 5 million. We are 29 and still feel far behind. At what point do you start to feel wealthy?

We want builders to build starter homes at $200–250k so the next generation can actually... start. Instead, they sell $400–500k+ homes and call them “starter homes.” $3,190/month is NOT a starter home.

I know most people will disagree, but… I’d rather spend $3,000–$4,000 on a mini-retirement than invest it for a future that isn’t guaranteed.

@TheMattViera Right there with you. I don't touch my investments but I do have half my emergency fund in the high yield bonds because 8% is much better than a HYSA. It's all about the purpose

7 signs you're doing better than most people: 1. A paid-off car 2. No credit card debt 3. A travel fund in a HYSA 4. A passport full of stamps 5. A 6–12 month emergency fund 6. No work email outside business hours 7. 20% of your income invested each month

@TheMattViera You are getting the tax on a HYSA too. Sure you have to plan a couple days ahead but it's not a mutual fund. Sell the etf shares you need :)

@jdeamattson Uh... We have more than enough oil and al but unlimited natural gas, not to mention ... Coal. From a production standpoint we are fine. For those that have to drive to work? Yeah it's gonna hurt

Those who blocked wind and solar expansion in the U.S. aren’t look wise right now. China will weather this better than the U.S. because over half its power comes from wind and solar.

@TheMattViera It depends. Are you also able to work from home? Do you have a flexible schedule? Are you exempt?

Many employers say they support work-life balance. But they quietly expect you to answer emails at night, on weekends, and during vacation. That’s not work-life balance. That’s off-the-clock work.

@TheMattViera There have been studies that have shown that life does significantly improve the more financial resources you have. There is a taper (truly financially rich are generally unhappy) but there is also a sweet spot where your life drastically improves

My friend believes his life will get significantly better when he makes more money. If you can't enjoy the life you have now, more money won't fix that.
