It’s almost like some Germans hate the Ukrainians because they have shown that one can stand up to Russia, which completely negates the entire foreign policy of the previous establishment that always preached kowtowing to the Kremlin. Nothing like self-hatred to motivate people. This one, who is gay while being a leader of the neo-Nazis, is a textbook case. @MichaelAArouet In 2010, they generated 133 TWh from nuclear power. In 2025, they got 110 TWh from coal.
The conclusion is simple: if they had kept nuclear, they could be out of coal today. And even reduce their use of gas.

Germans, after shutting down their perfectly fine nuclear power plants, they wanted to replace with Russian gas first, which then a few years later they wanted to replace with LNG shipments from Qatar.
But who needs an industry, right?

The United Kingdom was the birthplace of coal. It has now, effectively, died there.
As shown in the chart, in the late 1980s, around two-thirds of the UK’s electricity came from coal. By the time I was born in the 1990s, this had dropped to just over half.
The use of coal has plummeted in my lifetime. It now makes up around 0.1% of the UK’s electricity.
Coal was first replaced by gas, but is now being pushed out by wind, solar, and biomass.

Deswegen haben Bürger mittlerweile son Hals auf die Altparteien. SPD-Generalsekretär und CDU-Abgeordneter fordern schnellstmöglich eine Spritpreissenkung, obwohl beide regieren. Steuern wollen beide nicht senken, sondern analysieren, Taskforce-Ergebnisse abwarten und hoffen, dass die Preise von alleine sinken. Es ist unfassbar frech, was die beiden hier abliefern.
