@bryanrieger @stephanierieger So far I have been using it for 2 years for most of my daily email writing, todos, bibliography, writing articles/papers, organizing students. For me, part of it is also keeping the dream alive :)

@bryanrieger @stephanierieger It is actually an extended Squeak/Smalltalk image I call "Home Desktop System" (github.com/hpi-swa-lab/ho…). It benefits very much from the base system adding an "inverted" architecture for accessing objects. "Domain objects" are available in a global set. Tools just query the set.

+100! When it comes to decentralization, the perfect is increasingly the enemy of the good. Highly cooperative, and interoperable products with thoughtful options to privately store (ideally end to end encrypted) data if desired would suit a great many use cases.
