The US Navy could have easily re-opened the Strait of Hormuz at any time.
But a closed Strait put pressure on China. Now we are learning China pressured Iran to re-open the Strait.
Trump is the master of leverage.

Iranian state TV is claiming Trump agreed to their full plan, which includes: 1- no more attacks 2- Iran controls straight of Hormuz & can charge fees 3- uranium enrichment allowed 4- all sanctions lifted 5 - paying reparations to Iran 6 - withdrawing ALL US troops in the middle east and shutting ALL US bases 7- Blocking Israel's war on all fronts including in Lebanon There's a zero percent chance Trump will actually agree to this in the long run so this thing is nowhere near over. Trump will likely lie and pretend like he got a much stricter deal. Total Iranian victory at the moment.
