Can you come out to 34th and wood street ASAP to try stop these agents of the state (with support from libby schaaf and gavin newsom) from evicting 200 people?

We need you to come out for this in the morning. They plan to 200 hundred people without offering most of them anywhere to go. This plan has backing from mayor libby schaaf and governor gavin newsom.

We were disappointed to see the revisionist history in the MACRO story by @Oaklandside. It erases the contributions of many community organizations — including the Black & Brown leadership of APTP, @CURYJ & others without whom MACRO would not exist. #WeWillNotBeErased

There has been a trend of sweeping houses encampments in the Bay Area where houseless people are met with displacement instead of care & housing.
Wouldn‘t it make sense to invest money into supporting the Wood St residents instead of funding the destruction of their community?

People are being displaced today from the Wood Street area by the city of Oakland today and according to one worker started at 7am. Heavy machinery is moving items on the street, but workers were careful to not put this Tesla behind their cordon.

The UC cut down 47 trees when they came to People’s Park and fenced it off with residents and organizers still inside. We were able to take the fences down, but we will have to wait for the new trees we planted grow.
The UC doesn’t care about this environment, but we do.

We are not 100% on when the UC plans to move in on the park again, but we do know that everyday they are not building, they are losing money and students begin arriving next week.
Help us stay ready by showing up at the park to hang out this week so we’re ready if they come.

We stand against California SB 1338 and the creation of “care courts.
These courts would do nothing except take away autonomy from people with mental illness and lead to the incarceration of houseless ppl on the basis of mental illness.
Why not fund housing instead of courts?
