@catseurat @erinmhk We got, when I was maybe 9, as a hand-me-down, one of those dishwashers that you roll over and hook to the sink? My dad made a little top for it and we used that sucker like the world’s fanciest island. A friend came over one time and was like “why is it LIKE this?” Crushed me.

@erinmhk An actual dishwasher that wasn't a child. Families that took their sixth graders to Jamaica or Barbados and they came back with their hair braided. Cabbage Patch dolls. Camp Beverly Hills.

what are random things growing up that made you think other households were “rich”? Mine was when people had an ice maker in their fridge and didn’t need to use trays 😭
