Another PoE2 Atlas rant. Flavourwise, I really like PoE1 endgame setting more. In PoE1 the Atlas are connected alternate worlds and abstractions inhabited by absolutely mesmerizing eldritch beings that fight for dominance over the endless, while all exiles who enter that space become part of the problem over time. It's much more compelling as a setting than... Another lake, another forest, another tower. Yey. In PoE2: it's a map, but it's endless for some reason and there's nothing you can do to actually 'solve things'. I personally expect GGG will eventually revamp the system to follow the PoE1 story-line. I know many don't care at all about the lore, but this still feels like a complain worth mentioning.
