Duolingo should have an "I'm going on holiday to this country very soon" setting so it teaches you "can I have the bill" instead of "the cow boils an egg"

For those of you who are struggling with the state of the world, and find yourselves with tears or so much emotion it can feel overwhelming: I hope you never lose your capacity to experience empathy, because it makes you human. It is abnormal to not feel anything, and to blindly adapt to a fundamentally unjust world. Let your love move you to solidarity and action and community, to be an example for what is possible and help create a world that is different.

I find not liking cookbooks a sign of lower consciousness. A good cookbook is an intersection of anthropology, history, taste, art, craft, instruction, ethics, alchemy & more for the eyes that see.

Of course a snake can cross his 'arms'. That's the beauty of animation, it isn’t constrained by anatomy or physics, it’s constrained only by imagination.

Laterite. Cut from the earth, stacked, left exposed. No plaster. No paint. No finish. The wall IS the architecture. Kerala has built with it for centuries; it hardens on air exposure, gets stronger the longer it stands. 📍 Kannur, Kerala 🇮🇳 Architects: Elemental

This might not age well, but I'm already seeing a pattern of people growing bored of AI in the creative space and moving back to doing a lot manually. Especially when it comes to animation, film, and art. Now that AI slop is pretty much everywhere, the novelty of what AI can do will wear off. We lose our sense of what we thought was impressive, and are reminded that when someone creates something with real skill, it's easily distinguishable. We are already seeing brands stand out by opting for real art over AI-generated work, because prompting a solution really isn't impressive. Real art is!
