We’ve fought for more than a decade to bring back 8th grade algebra for kids who are ready & interested. We’re finally on the verge, but the school district’s new proposal creates a significant barrier — requiring kids who want to take algebra in 8th grade to also take regular 8th grade math. Kids shouldn’t be required to take two math classes, which will simply force them to give up an elective. The district should avoid this barrier & let 8th graders choose to take algebra as their sole math class.

I'm pretty allergic to AI hype and can genuinely say AI Teammates are amazing — I'd self fund if I didn't have access to them from working here! It really is like having an additional member of your team for everything from rote operational work to high level strategy.

This understates the disparity. If you factor in overtime (which many teachers work but don't get paid for), police officers are making much, much more. Believe I saw a figure that was median $290k for cops.

I've been playing with the new AI stuff internally at @asana and frankly it's amazing. So fast and easy to summarize complex tasks, bootstrap workflows, and get insights into the work around me. I run on the skeptic side but I'm really excited about what the future holds here.
