Who’s your favorite modern day point guard?

@_ZachShaw I’m thinking about a blast from the past - Bernard Robinson Jr or GRIII. Someone that can get you a bucket, play good defense and fill the wing on the fast break. But college ball mostly small guards and big men these days. I can’t imagine Walters staying in front of anyone 🤷‍♂️

@dsobes I agree. I know Dusty was more guard-heavy at FAU (Johnell was often a 4) and Walters plays like a Duncan Robinson-type wing, but there may be some making do at the 3 if Michigan doesn't add a true wing

Take 1: Michigan had 4 players play at least 77% of available minutes last year. Don't think that will be the case next year Take 2: The rotation at the 1, 2 and 3 will be interesting. Jones, Burnett and Gayle have the length and skill to play a number of roles in May's system

@swarheit You are out on Sorsdal as potential LG? I didn’t love Awosika as a starter but they did tender him. I could see them drafting a guard in 2nd round - or even a center who can kick out to guard (or tackle who can move inside) as a long term fit at either position.

Lions remaining somewhat immediate needs: Starting offensive guard X position WR (Josh Reynolds or replacement) Safety Then depth at OL, DE/OLB rusher, and and another CB. Not half bad. Maybe the plan for safety is to have Branch play nickel and shift to S when needed. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Today I was laid off as part of the devastating cuts at the Los Angeles Times. It has been an honor to write for this paper the last 5+ years, alongside an inspiring and dogged staff. I'm excited for what's next personally but sad for my colleagues and our industry as a whole.

With the Eagles collapse vs. the Cardinals, the Cowboys are really gonna end up with the #2 seed in the NFC playoffs b/c of the tiebreaker with the Lions. What an embarrassment for the league.
