I've vowed never to read an online article with a “teaser” headline. A headline should give a very brief synopsis of what happened. “Sullivan Guilty, Gets Life without Parole” is a good headline. “Sullivan Learns Fate As Jury Delivers Its Verdict” is a teaser headline, and the hell with it! I’ll just ask Grok AI, “What happened in the Sullivan case?” Even if most articles about the story are behind pay walls, Grok will tell me. Most news articles today are badly written anyway and are barely intelligible, full of misplaced modifiers and bad grammar. Americans are mostly brainwashed in one direction or another, but they are no longer well-educated.
