Honestly the diet is the most important thing. Working out and cardio and all that is also important, but the diet is what really counts. Cutting out soda, alcohol, fast food and junk is the easiest part. Once you get used to replacing those things with healthy alternatives, the weight honestly just starts to fall off. Great example would be instead of munching on chips or a hot pocket for example, I will grab a hard boiled egg and some cottage cheese. A million times better for you, more filling, and a great way to get protein intake while also hardly any calories. I hardly eat food anymore that isn't optimal for body fuel. High protein, low calories. For literally everything I eat. Honestly we have it kind of easy these days too as far as food goes. You can get things like Quest chips which have tons of protein and very low calories and honestly taste as good as much normal chips do. Flavored sparkling water tastes as good as soda to me honestly but only 5 calories for a whole bottle and costs like 25 cents each lol. Tons of protein drinks etc out there. Honestly most people drink the majority of their calories without realizing it. They think they aren't eating much so they gotta be doing it right, but then they will drink 1000 calories worth of coffee drinks and soda and energy drinks etc.

It really is bizarre. Most of my friends don't have FSD (or a Tesla). And it is the single biggest lifestyle difference between us. They drive their cars. My car drives me. They don't get how much--even at its current capability-level--the product changes life-feel. FSD truly is a mass luxury product. That it is still so narrowly enjoyed is mind-bending.

Seems to me as though you just want something to complain about my man. HW3 literally just received an update less than a week ago. It is being updated, exactly as they promised you. Again, your FSD is also transferable. I'm not exactly sure where Tesla promised you that you would make money while you were sleeping, especially considering FSD is still Supervised. You are not allowed to sleep while it is driving you.

FSD was 8k, not 10k. Also, FSD is transferable. If you were to buy a 2026 Juniper right now, they would transfer your FSD to it and you would then have the upgraded HW4. Surely you didn't think that you would never have to upgrade? A 2018 Model 3 should have the same specs as a 2030 Tesla?

Not necessarily. When your computer becomes out of date and starts to be 'obsolete', Nvidia doesn't send you the newest GFX card for free. Honestly as a new Tesla owner myself, it's become very clear that you are essentially buying a computer on wheels. The car itself isn't anything spectacular. It's the technology behind it that makes it special. HW3 is still alright. But if I were to honestly compare it to a brand new HW4, it's like comparing a 1080ti to a 4090 Super. The 1080ti still works and does plenty of things great, but compared to the newer HW4s it feels like garbage. I'm someone who genuinely enjoys driving, but I find myself constantly using the FSD because it honestly drives better than myself. The speed is perfect for me. My car is always perfectly centered in the lane. Never miss a correct blinker. Never miss a turn accidentally. Even the parking, I can't believe how well it parks on it's own even in a packed lot. Sometimes I will accidentally park like an ass, crooked and taking up too much of the space for the person next to me to be able to park comfortably. I haven't noticed it once yet in my Tesla. Everytime it parks it is literally perfectly in the space and so easily too. I was not a fan of Tesla at all until I owned one. After having one, it made my Lexus, Hyundai, Ford, Mazda, and Pontiac all feel like junk.

Lots of people like driving. It’s fun. It’s freedom. If I had the money, I wouldn’t want a chauffeur. I’m not interested in an electronic one either, and I have a car that can do much of what a Tesla does. It’ll drive itself on the highways. I’m not paying the reduced price of $25 for it, because I want to be in control, to slip around traffic that’s slow, to enjoy the ride. The slowest cars on the road are Teslas driving themselves, never getting out of the way and old grannies in Corollas.

@zackslab @bsimeone @wintonARK HW3 sucks. That's it really. My MYP FSD quite literally drives better than 90% of the people on the road. Honestly I think the FSD drives better than myself and I consider myself a pretty good driver.

So many variables. What year is the Lexus and the Y? Supercharging during non peak hours and nobody near you? That's huge. Battery degrading overtime vs a hybrid is another factor. I sat in many customer cars where they had lost 50-60+ miles of range over time and it only gets worse. One guy had an S that just barely got over 200 bc of wear and tear.

The Math on a Tesla Model Y at 0% interest: $529/mo x 72 months = $38,088 The oldest Tesla Model Y (2020) currently sits at $20k - $25k which was 6 years ago In 6 years you would have paid $38,088 to own the same car that could be worth $20,000 Worth it?

In the amount of driving that cost me $30 worth of gas, my Tesla was still sitting at about 40% battery from full. This would cost me just over $5 with a supercharger, and even cheaper if I charged at home.

I'm not saying you're wrong either but you're still having to stop and charge usually more often than getting gas in a Hybrid for example. Especially once range starts decreasing over time. I worked for Tesla on the sales side, $7500 more (yes I know it's government based) plus having to subscribe to FSD really takes away from the savings. Wish they cut back on the price whilst still making FSD available for one time purchase.
