And ldc what nobody says, Talk About Our Love was not the best lead single. I know people celebrate it today but even back then I was not a fan of that song choice as a single. And she said the LABEL wanted it. Maybe because I sat with the album I’ve always felt it was a bad choice.

@duffthebrand But even taking Beyoncé out of it a lot of R&B girls had to rethink their sound/style because being popular in just the R&B lane wasn’t profitable anymore. You had to chase mainstream pop success as well. Nobody cared if you had a lady of soul award anymore
